Finite Element Analysis of 3D Printed Model via Compression Tests. 3D Printing has grown tremendously over the past few years and continues to do so as the industry grows with .In this paper a simplified material model for rubber is presented allowing for a fast generation of input data based on uniaxial static and dynamic test data. A simplified approach to the . and if we just have true elastic-plastic data as input data to Ansys, can we achieve failure in our model? and another question is, I want to apply a compression test like Masud407. I want to do it in explicit dynamic. my strain rate is 1.8 mm/min in 5 minutes.
Dear all,I am using Ansys 2021 R1 and I would like to model my material to have different behaviour in tension and compression, as my experimental tests show. In particular, the Young modulus is different, but I also have two different stress-strain curves, one for tension and one for compression.I heard that the cast iron [.]
Uniaxial Tension & Compression Input Data
I recently started using Ansys Workbench for my university studies with a simple tests obtaining questionable results. I started by replicating a uniaxial compression test of a cylindrical specimen (6mm high by 12mm diameter) which is crushed between two 1mm plates. Knowing E=50MPa, the area of the specimen, the crushing and the initial height . I was simulating a compression test of a porous structure in the Static structural module keeping the bottom end fixed and applying displacement (for example 0.1%) at the top surface. I am trying to calculate the reaction force at the top surface, and the reaction force will be used to calculate stress at the top [.] Dear all 1) i want to simulate lateral compression of the specimen posted below. for that i am going to use two rigid surface as shown in the figure. 2) i want to apply a certain amount of displacement on the top surface and fixed support on bottom surface. 3) . Dear friends,I have performed a compression test and I have all the data. Now I want to validate the experimental data using simulation results. Three specimen were tested with displacement rate of 0.25 mm/s, 0.5 mm/s and 0.75 mm/s individually. Should I use Explicit Dynamics or static structural analysis?Material used is ASA (thermoplastic), which is [.]
compression tests consisted of three main parts corresponding to the test specimen and the two heads of the press or the drop-weight test machine respectively. In both static and dynamic tests the lower head of the testing machine was a stationary rigid .
I am running a simulation of a compression test using a smaller surface to press against a larger one. At 10% strain it was fine, but the errors come up when I tried 20% strain. See attached image for errors. Then I tried using nonlinear adaptive region, but it seems like I didn't set it up right or else.

Hello, As part of my study, I am required to model compression tests carried out on square hollow section short (450mm) columns and following the different discussion threads on this website, I have managed to model the column with two plates on either ends and I understand the use of a displacement boundary condition instead [.] I am trying for barreling effect in compression test. But when I did solution the material does not show deformation. July 3, 2020 at 8:52 am Rob . Damping in Ansys Mechanical. Explore this crosstalk on how damping is implemented in Ansys, unravel misconceptions, and understand how it reduces force, curbs energy loss, and optimizes motion .
Hello!nI'm trying to model a PVC cable sheath with hyperelastic material behaviour and therefore, among other things, I conducted a uniaxial compression test. I read/heard that test data from uniaxial compression and biaxial tension are interchangable with regard to using it for curve fitting in combination with the Mooney-Rivlin model f.e. nIf I put in
I have a stress-strain graph (also tabulated data) of a copper specimen obtained from laboratory test. Attached the figure. how can i model the the physical behavior in Ansys to replicate the laboratory test. Given t he cross head speed is 1 mm/min f of the sample. So, effectively the strain rate is 2.4 /s. My questions are:

Bottom Dia 60mm, Top Dia 35mm, Height 200mm, Wall Thickness 3.0mm . That is a failure mode of long slender columns in .strong rate dependency tensile tests were conducted at a quasi-static test velocity of 1 mm/min and at elevated test speeds of 8, 80 and 800 mm/s. Additional measurements at 8 m/s for PP and at 50 mm/min for PC were examined. These test velocities correspond to nominal strain rates ranging from 0,0002 to 100 s-1. The local true stress - true .
Hello Ansys Community, I am trying to simulate an unconsolidated undrained triaxial compression test through static structural analysis, however, the software keeps on telling me that it doesn’t converge to a solution. My goal is to create a similar stress-strain curve in the software with the experimental results that I have. What I did is that [.] hello everyone, i have been trying to perform compression test simulation using static structural and giving multilinear plasticity property and using displacement as the boundary condition on one end whereas on the other end fixed support.i am looking for a non linear real type scenerio stress strain curve but i am always getting linear curves [.] Published by Elsevier B.V Peer-review under responsibility of the organizing committee of S PM 2019 Keywords: Ansys, Autodesk Inventor, 3D objects, 3D Printer, FEM 1.
